AIM PURPOSE-DRIVEN ENGAGEMENT FOR SOCIAL GOOD
We aim to provide both a physical space and a digital platform of sharing, exchange and reflection for migrants of different waves since 1960s in Germany and other parts of Europe. We offer both an exchange space and a hub for reflection upon migrants’ and refugees’ issues in mind and in retrospect. We also offer training courses on current burning issues and needs discussed in common collectives. Commoning towards awareness on indigenous inheritance and sacred histories of people on the move always make us stand with courage despite tough times. We believe in bottom-up grassroots collectives based on critical thinking and action. We, therefore, would like to work collaboratively and remain in close touch with anyone with migration history some time in their lives. We learn from and with each other all the time.

Skill Development
Displaced is an event and sharing space with a program schedule that will be updated with felt needs and desires of migrant communities / displaced people / diaspora living in Solingen, Cologne, Germany and beyond. It is an exchange hub for migrants and diaspora of different generations, willing to learn from/with each other through shared memories, accumulated knowledge and diversity of experiences.
As a community of knowledge workers, aware of current global and glocal issues at stake, we would like to iterate collectively in different forms of exchange. Our event will take hybrid „phygital“ forms, taking place both physically and digitally to reach out to more people with interest. This synchronous mode can take different forms like connecting from other spaces with engaged communities and also individuals‘ home with curious minds. We are intrigued by the new options technology can bring, but also sensitive about the vulnerabilities and equalities it can create. Thus, we are eager to experiment new forms of connection and exchange.
If you already feel a part of the community of people on the move, have settled in a place other than your birth-place, have been born into a familiy of migrants and/or believe in creative diversity of displaced ideas and identities, you are already part of the adventure:) We are willing to set on the road of that adventure with you to discover new paths, to celebrate our cultural past and cherish our lifeworld with all its prosperity for a common, creative future.
